Rightly so. The process behind this success – the program has been rolled out at eleven schools meanwhile affecting the lifes of closer to ten thousand kids – might not be talked about that much, but is of vital importance to its sustainability, i.e. our tailor-made Training of Trainers (“ToT”) approach. ToT works by instructing a team of both focus teachers and elderly focus students at our chosen schools to the extent that they themselves are ready to train each and every incoming chort of younger students- who then passes their acquired knowhow to the next, and so forth. One of the schools involved is the Kok Chan Primary School. Its principal has provided us with the following feedback in an interview:

“I am truly delighted that Kamboo Project has implemented the School Hygiene and Clean Water Initiative at our school. This project has provided access to safe, clean water and proper handwashing facilities for all students.

It is a meaningful and impactful initiative—not only for Kok Chan Primary School but also for the surrounding community. Our school has seen great improvements, especially in infrastructure and in raising awareness about hygiene and first aid.

Joining this project has not only improved hygiene facilities in our school but also strengthened teacher capacity. The Kamboo Project team demonstrated the importance of teamwork by guiding us in setting long-term goals, breaking them down into monthly plans, and identifying strategies to make those goals achievable. We also received training related to financial management, which is very helpful for our school’s development.

We are committed to continuing our collaboration with the Kamboo Project team to ensure this project runs smoothly in the coming period. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the District and Provincial Departments of Education for their strong collaboration—especially for visiting our school regularly and providing valuable feedback.

On behalf of the school, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Kamboo Project for bringing us this opportunity for development. I hope the organization and its generous supporters will continue to extend this support to other schools in need. Thank you once again.”.

When we talk to our supporters about our longstanding hygiene program “SHIP” (School Hygiene Improvement Program), we would mostly report back on improved enrolment rates as well as reduced class absence rates, about improved cleanliness in terms of waste management- and show lots of clean student hands with many happy student faces: Information on SHIP.
