Infrastructure for 1480 school children

The renowned Swiss company Geberit is implementing its «Social Project 2019» in Cambodia together with Kamboo Project. Two schools in the Siem Reap region receive new infrastructure elements. These include buildings for classes and teachers, drinking water supply as well as sanitary facilities. A total of 1480 school children and 47 teachers will receive help in meeting basic needs in daily school operations.

As part of our school program, we checked out around 50 schools in the Siem Reap region and proposed the two schools “Arranh Rangsey Primary School” and “Wat Roka Primary School” to Geberit for this project. In these schools, there is not only a lack of basic infrastructure for many school children, but the visible commitment of the teaching staff also shows good conditions for a sustainable impact. Kamboo Project supports the planning and implementation of the construction work on site and is the local interface between Geberit, the two schools and the school authorities. We will also support the two schools in keeping the infrastructure running over the next few years. Our WASH program specially developed for this project helps the school children to learn and live hygiene in everyday life.

As is customary with Geberit social projects, there is a special final phase. At the beginning of November 2019, 10 apprentices and two coaches from Geberit arrived on site. For two weeks, they help with the project. They install Geberit sanitary facilities, are involved in the hygiene program for the school children and actively contribute to the completion of the project. Kamboo Project would like to express its sincere thanks to Geberit for the comprehensive commitment and for the financing of this major project!
